Walking Away
I didn’t argue further.
I couldn’t.
Because some lines, once crossed, change everything.
I left the house and went to pick Sarah up from school.
When she got into the car, she smiled.
“Dad, I can’t wait for your wedding!” she said excitedly. “I think I’ll look gorgeous in whatever dress Nora chooses.”
I smiled back.
But it wasn’t real.
Inside, I felt completely lost.
